Had a fun experience dining on the patio. Food was good, I had a steak with poached eggs. service was impeccable (we loved Jorge and Alex), and the milkshakes were the perfect ending.

Great experience at Fran's! Service was impeccable, food delicious! My Eggs Royale was just phenomenal and so my girlfriend's pancakes. This diner is a must try in Toronto.

Came to Toronto for business. Not familiar with any “go-to” restaurants, however Frans was close to our hotel. We are SO glad we popped in to give it a try for our lunch. By far, the best homemade burgers we’ve ever had. We sat on the outdoor porch to people watch. It was perfect. Our waitress, Marcia was fantastic. Attentive, fast and friendly. Thank you Marcia, & thank you Frans! The bathrooms do need attention though. 1/10.

This establishment evokes the ambiance of a well-preserved, classic dining experience. While exhibiting its 85-year history, the restaurant maintains a clean and well-maintained environment. Their menu features traditional fare such as meatloaf and liver and onions. I sampled the ribs, which were satisfactory, although I prefer less sauce. The mashed potatoes, however, lacked sufficient heat. Pricing is competitive, and our server provided exceptional service; unfortunately, we did not obtain his name.

No frills, no nonsense. Keep it simple and keep it good. Staff is friendly, efficient and knowledgeable of the menu. Seating is plentiful, they have a lower level of the first floor is crowded. Atmosphere is nice and comfy. Old but clean. Menu is large and offers all sorts of foods including all-day breakfast, lunch and dinner options along with a large drink menu. The food itself is actually quite good, I wasn’t expecting anything spectacular considering it’s a 24hr restaurant but the breakfast steak & eggs, sausage and pancakes were something I’d come back for. Coffee is good too, not acidic like most other places. I would recommend to anyone that’s in a group trying to decide where to eat on the fly. There’s something for everyone and it’s priced modestly.

Went for breakfast through recommendation. They have an all day breakfast option and also more choices for lunch and dinner . The pancakes were awesome and eggs benedict were decent too. Unlimited coffee too. Service was good considering how busy was it , although I think they can use another server . Took me 10 minutes just to get their attention for bill. The girls were simply too busy , the gentleman who is showing people to the table can probably do a bit more. If you looking for a classic American diner and good food , this is a good spot .

I came here for a late dinner one night and it was cozy vibes all around. I got their half pound Franburger and it hit the spot. The burger comes with a side of your choice and I picked fries. So yummy! The server was also the absolute sweetest and made sure that I was doing good! This is a Toronto staple for sure I've also had their breakfasts before and it is so good!
